Cancellation Policy: Refunds will only be issued if you cancel at least a week in advance of the start of the class.

Snow Day Policy: CAE classes will be closed in the event that Jefferson County Public Schools have closed due to severe weather as announced by local radio or TV.

Exploring Abstract Painting
November 4, 2017

Course description: The class is excellent for anyone who is 'stuck in a rut' and wants to break out of old habits and learn ways to make their paintings more exciting and expressive. There are no limits to the creative process in abstract painting, yet it's easy to fall into the 'comfort zone'. We will use this time together to push the boundaries and explore ways to create abstraction. Don't just be satisfied with your 'under painting' take it step or two or ten beyond. Remember, art is a continuous experiment!
Supplies: Multiple canvases, suggested size 16x20 or larger. Instructor has a few 12x12 canvases available for purchase. Please bring your own paint (Instruction will be geared towards acrylic or oil paint; watercolor ok if your a familiar with your technique); palette knives & paint brushes in varied sizes (one at least 2 inches wide), paint palette, paper towels, mediums & textures of choice (pre-textured or mixed media prepared canvases are welcome). Please let instructor know in ADVANCE, if you'd like use a floor easel or table easel.

Memoir Writing II

Course description: Study Memoir Writing with the master, Carolyn Evans Campbell. Memoir represents a slice of life in which authors reflect upon intimate issues, family stories, specific events or personal relationships. It is a glimpse of the past, vividly recreated through creative writing.

This class continues where Memoir I left off.

Autumn Flower Arranging

Course description: Students will learn how to create stunning floral arrangements from a professional florist. Elements and principles of design will be emphasized. Each student will make and take a spectacular floral arrangement home.
