Museum Moments II; Thomas Smith: "The Western: An Epic in Art and Film"

Museum Moments II: Center for the Arts Evergreen presents a spectacular lecture series in collaboration with the region's most respected art museums. Thomas Smith, Director of the Petrie Institute of Western American Art at the Denver Art Museum will present "The Western: An Epic in Art and Film."

This lecture takes place at CAE's current location, right next to Buchanan Recreation Center.

Tickets are $10 for members, and $20 for non-members. Refreshments will be served from 6:30-7pm. The lecture runs from 7-8pm.

Come hear from Gail Lindley, who is the third generation in a five generation business, Denver Bookbinding Company, that was started in 1929. Included will be a short discussion of paper prior to 1840 and after 1840. Samples of paper from the 1500's to the early 1900's will be available. Types of binding and tools will be included. What is a fore edged painted book...curious? Join us to find out!

Summerfest

Summerfest is a two-day community fine arts and crafts festival held outdoors in beautiful Evergreen, CO. With over 100 artists from all over the country, Summerfest provides fun for all ages. In addition to great art, we have Palette of Brews, local food, live music, special performances, and a children's activity area.

$5 entry fee (kids free) goes directly toward CAE's educational arts programming for the community.

OPENING RECEPTION Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition

In it's 44th year, this exhibition is one of the premier national watermedia exhibitions, to be presented in Evergreen for the first time and juried by Stephen Quiller. This exhibition will take place in our new facility at 1318 County Road 65. This reception will also commemorate the official ribbon-cutting for the new facility, and the opening weekend will coincide with the popular Evergreen Open Door Studios, our partner event.

Join us for a special Saturday night reception to be the first to celebrate this prestigious exhibition in our new facility. There will be an awards ceremony to hand out the cash awards. Exhibition sponsors and donors will also be recognized.

This event is free and open to the public. Wine and refreshments will be served. The exhibition will be on display through October 28.
