Museum Moments II: Center for the Arts Evergreen presents a spectacular lecture series in collaboration with the region's most respected art museums. Melissa English, Director of the Powers Art Center, will present "Overview of the Powers Art Center and Works of Jasper Johns." The Powers Art Center, the newest museum in Colorado, showcases the Powers' private collection of Jasper Johns' works on paper.

This lecture takes place at CAE's new facility.

Tickets are $10 for members, and $20 for non-members. Refreshments will be served from 6:30-7pm. The lecture runs from 7-8pm.

Rebecca Folsom Concert

A true Renaissance woman, Rebecca Folsom is a painter, a published poet, a touring musician, and a national award winning songwriter. Her work in all mediums offers a blend of bittersweet storytelling, hope, and the light of liberation. Rebecca received her BFA in Fine Arts at CU, has published two poetry books, and has been a touring musician for over 15 years, playing such venues as Red Rocks Amphitheater in CO, The Bluebird and Opryland in Nashville, TN, Falcon Ridge Festival, NY, Kerrville Folks Festival, TX. Her song "Better Times" went to #1 on the National Roots/Americana radio charts, and her Album "Extraordinary Days" went top 40 for the year 2016.

Lecture: Why Watermedia? Why Not Watercolor?

Join us for a lively lecture in conjunction with Rocky Mountain National Watermedia (RMNW) by CAE Executive Director, Steve Sumner, and his son, Aaron Sumner. They will talk about the formulation of paints and pigments throughout art history.

RMNW has a 43 year history in the Front Range of Colorado, but is here in Evergreen for the first time in 2017. Are you curious about watermedia and what it means? This lecture will satisfy your curiosities about the different media that you will see in the exhibition.

Exhibition Tour - Rocky Mountain National Watermedia

The Rocky Mountain National Watermedia (RMNW) exhibition, in its 44th year, is presented in our new facility. CAE is honored and excited to take responsibility for hosting this annual exhibition. RMNW attracts entrants and jurors from throughout the United States, and is regarded as one of the top watermedia exhibitions in the country.

CAE Curator, Becky Guy, has coordinated this exhibition four times, and she is offering a tour to give visitors a more immersive experience. She will give a little history about RMNW followed by more information about a select number of paintings in the exhibition.

The tour is free with admission to the exhibition, which is $3 for adults & seniors and FREE for CAE Members.
