CAE MEMBERSHIPS AND SUPPORT:

Center for the Arts, Evergreen is a 501C3 non-profit, is supported by your donations, grants, and local events.

CAE's Commitment to the Evergreen Community: The Center houses exhibit space (also used for small concerts and recitals), classrooms and meeting spaces that are also utilized for symposiums and lectures. We schedule twelve annual art exhibitions showcasing nationally accomplished artists as well as artists from the mountain community. The Art Center and its services are open to everyone free of charge six days a week. Low cost memberships provide individuals and families discounts on art classes offered in a wide variety of media and disciplines including the fine arts, crafts and creative writing. Following the tradition of the Evergreen Arts Council, CAE actively supports the visual and performing arts organizations in the community, including programs for area schools.

Over the last several years, CAE has provided thousands of dollars in donations to schools in our community. With the cutbacks in education and arts in particular, your support means a great deal to CAE and the programs we support. Art education produces an important platform for students which extends beyond the visual products we see. As a learning tool, fine arts often leads to careers in graphic design, journalism, architecture, computer arts, or perhaps mechanical or industrial design. Not everyone can be a Picasso or Rembrandt, but perhaps the experience will provide a foundation for a future career.

Charitable Trusts

One method for donating to Center for the Arts is through a charitable trust. A charitable trust can solve various estate and income-tax planning problems all in addition to providing meaningful support to Center for the Arts.

With a charitable trust, you can provide either an income or a remainder interest Center for the Arts while retaining the other interest for yourself or your beneficiaries. Two basic types of charitable trusts are commonly used: a charitable remainder trust and a charitable lead trust. These two basic charitable trusts are available in several variations. The trust that best suits you and CAE will depend on several factors. As you consider the types of charitable trusts available, keep in mind that before establishing a charitable trust, you should always seek qualified tax and legal advice.

A charitable remainder trust lets a donor make a substantial charitable gift now while receiving income from the assets for use during his or her lifetime. The trustee of a charitable remainder trust can sell appreciated property through the trust and obtain a desired level of income for the donor from the proceeds without incurring immediate capital gains taxes. Consequently, more is left to be invested to provide income for the donor and ultimately benefit the charity.

When you donate property to a charity through a remainder trust, you transfer ownership of the property to the trust, which then pays income to you during the trust's term.

You determine the amount of income you will receive based on a percentage of the donated property's fair market value. At your death, the death of your beneficiary or the completion of the trust's term, the trustee will distribute the balance of the trust assets to Center for the Arts. You may retain the right to change beneficiaries and to name multiple charitable beneficiaries.

A charitable lead trust is often structured to provide gift tax benefits and no current income tax deduction. However, the income from the assets is reported by the trust with an off-setting deduction for the amount paid to Center for the Arts.

Donate a Vehicle

Center for the Arts Evergreen accepts donations of most vehicles. You can reach the Vehicle Donation Program by calling 1-866-628-2277 across the state. Click here [https://www.vehiclesforcharity.org/Donate/CAE.html] to donate your vehicle online. Our representatives can answer all of your questions about the program and begin processing your donation. Also, we have answers to the most frequently asked questions here for your convenience:

What can I donate?

You can donate most vehicles to Center for the Arts, including cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, motorcycles and recreational vehicles. Your vehicle will be either sold at auction or sent to an auto recycler and a portion of the proceeds of the sale will come to Center for the Arts. Currently, Center for the Arts's Car Donation program accepts donations in the Denver metro area and most areas throughout the state. Call us for details.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Center for the Arts is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations to CAE qualify as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax return.

What do I need to donate my car?

The title to the car must be in your name. We will also need some information about where the car is located and the condition of the car. This will assist us in scheduling appropriate towing arrangements.

Will you pick up my car?

Yes, a tow company will call you to schedule the pick-up of your vehicle. You will need to give the driver the keys to the vehicle as well as your signed title. You will be instructed on how to sign the title. The driver may have you sign some paperwork authorizing the tow. The driver will leave you a tow receipt showing that he/she collected the vehicle on behalf of Center for the Arts via Vehicles for Charity.

How is the value of my car determined?

The IRS allows you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax form equal to the amount the vehicle sells for at auction unless it sells for less than $500. If your vehicle sells for less than $500 you may deduct no more than $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, we will need to get additional information from you so that we can send you the IRS form 1098C. We recommend you consult your tax advisor with questions about your deduction.
