Steve Sumner, Executive Director
Steve has been involved with the visual and performing arts throughout his entire career. Sumner is a designer and visual artist; he has a B.S. in design and photography from the University of Michigan and an MFA in painting and printmaking from the University of Massachusetts. Sumner has been a professor of art and senior university administrator. He remains today a strong advocate for arts education and arts in the schools. Sumner has an extensive record of exhibitions and awards, and his work has been shown in over 70 national and international one-person and group exhibitions. He has juried a number of national exhibitions and art festivals.
Becky Guy, Director of Exhibitions and Marketing
Becky Guy is a nonprofit arts professional with over 10 years experience, primarily with an emphasis on exhibitions. She received her Master's Degree in Arts Administration and Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon. Since 2013 she has also worked seasonally for the Burning Man organization with the Department of Public Works. She lives in Indian Hills with her husband, son, and two dogs. Becky loves dancing, reading, traveling, wearing costumes, and having the gallery to herself with artwork all over the floor waiting to be installed.
Stephanie O'Malley, Director of Education and Festivals
Stephanie O'Malley holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance and a BA in English from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. She is an artist at the CMAG gallery and owns a photography business, Stephanie O Photography, specializing in portraits and fine art. Other life experiences include ten years as a Product Manager for a Fortune 500 company, work as a Freelance writer and published author, mother to three mostly awesome adult children and two always spectacular rat terriers. Stephanie loves to travel, read, knit, cook, go to museums, and hike.
Tom Maxey, Manager of Finance and Administration
Patricia Wafer, Program Intern
Patricia has been an arts enthusiast since childhood, beginning college at DU as an Art major. Her focus morphed over the years, after acquiring a degree in Latin American Studies from Tulane and a MA from Johns Hopkins in International Development, she worked several years as Caribbean Program Manager for a non-profit in Washington DC. She returned to Colorado, in 1993 with toddler son who eventually studied music at Denver School of the Arts. She has lived in Evergreen with extended family since then. In 2009, Patricia began working as Director of Knox Galleries off Larimer Square in Denver. When the gallery closed in 2015, she eventually found her way to CAE. Patricia enjoys dancing, photography, writing, and has taken several painting classes at the Denver Arts Students League.
