2-Day Watercolor Challenge Workshop with Randy Hale
Wednesday, July 22 AND Thursday, July 23
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
$200 members / $222 non-members
Classes will be held in the main gallery where there’s adequate room for everyone to maintain necessary spacing. Classroom sessions will include challenge assignments. After discussing specific painting principles and providing challenge criteria, each painter will have an opportunity to interpret the challenge in their own unique way. Painters will be free to express themselves in any genre – abstracts, landscapes, portraits – but the paintings must include criteria that’s specific to the assignment. Painters will be given enough freedom of expression within assignments that classes should produce a wide variety of individual results instead of copies of an instructor demo. Some of the topics: Shape Dominance, Temperature Dominance, Less is More, Limited Palettes, Patterns, Alternation.
Yes, you can expect to receive handouts and well-prepared instruction including demos. Everyone will have plenty of time to paint in class and will always receive a great deal of attention from the instructor.
Some experience in watercolor is recommended but not required.
This class is designed for novice-to-intermediate painters, but all levels are welcome.
Class size in limited to 10 per CO.gov restrictions
Instructor: Randy Hale
