SUMMARY:Get Outside & Paint: Watercolor en Plein Air
DESCRIPTION:Watercolor en Plein Air with Janet Schaus\nJune 3 – 24 (4 Wednesdays)\n9 am – 12 pm\n$167 CAE Member / $185 Non-Member\nMinimum Students: 6 / Maximum Students: 16\nThis class combines two of the best things summer has to offer – spending time outdoors and painting. In this four-week class, we will be painting on location in or around the Evergreen area. If you are new to plein air painting, this is a perfect opportunity to get started. If you are a seasoned plein air painter, this will be a fun chance to expand your skills. Each day, we will meet up and paint at a carefully selected location (to be sent prior to the day of painting). The day will begin with a quick demo addressing compositional challenges, keeping a translucent quality to your painting, and how to simplify a scene. We will approach painting skies, luminescent middle grounds, and textured foregrounds in landscapes, cityscapes, and rural settings. You can expect a lot of individual attention to answer questions and address progress throughout the class. A critique before heading home will show you everyone’s interpretation of the area we paint in.\nBring a lawn chair and sketchbook or a pochade set up, and join us for some fun and relaxing time outside, hanging out with fellow artists and making some art.\nWe will paint weather permitting and will only reschedule in the event of high winds, lightning, or rain.
