SUMMARY:Raku Luminaries: A Two-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hand-Building Ceramics and Raku-Firing Workshop\nSession 1: October 19, 5–7 PM\nSession 2—Raku Day: October 29, 4:30–7:30 PM\nClass Size: Minimum 3 / Maximum 15 students\nTuition: $95 non-members / $85 CAE members\nJoin current CAE Artist-in-Residence M Rathsack for a playful, hands-on introduction to raku! During the first session, each student will receive one pound of clay and use hand-building, carving, and texturing techniques to create a one-of-a-kind ceramic luminary designed to glow beautifully with an LED light. On Raku Day, students will glaze their creations, then learn about and participate in the dramatic raku-firing process in CAE’s kiln yard. All personal protective equipment is provided.\n
