EXPLORING ABSTRACT PAINTING CLASS
Instructor: Melanie Warsinske
There are no limitations with how we choose to express ourselves visually by applying paint to a canvas. This class is an opportunity for you to experiment with the techniques you know and to learn more, as well as understanding composition and how it relates to the world of abstract art. The class is open to all levels of artists who have some knowledge of ‘paint use’, using your medium of choice. Melanie will work with each student individually and as a group. Plan to have FUN, release your inner child, and use your personal inspirations to develop your unique style!
As Georgia O’Keeffe once said, ”I decided that the only thing I could do that was nobody else’s business was to paint. I could do as I chose because no one would care.”
Lunch/Snacks: Please feel free to bring your own, including wine if you choose. There will be some snacks provided.
Supply list: Bring your own painting supplies including a minimum of two canvases, (no smaller than approx. 16”x20”). One will be your practice canvas and the other canvas is for your new painting. Please bring any paintings you are currently working on if you’d like Melanie’s feedback. Also bring any supplies you have, including paint, brushes, painting palette, palette knife, paper towels, rags, painting attire –and special mediums or textures that you typically work with; IF you are planning to use techniques … please apply to you canvas in advance so you can begin painting right away.
This class is designed for novice-to-intermediate painters, but all levels are welcome.
