QPR Suicide Prevention Training

Please join us at CAE on Tuesday, December 6 as CAE offers important and FREE suicide prevention training for our community. Shawna Fritzler, certified QPR trainer from the DeAngelis Foundation, will present this 2-hour training in person at CAE.

- How to Question, Persuade and, Refer someone who may be suicidal
- How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide
- The common causes of suicidal behavior
- The warning signs of suicide
- How to get help for someone in crisis
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a gatekeeper course focused on reducing suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. This training is specifically focused on youth suicide prevention and is ideal for community leaders, parents/guardians, and youth serving personnel; however, the skills of QPR transfer to suicide prevention for all ages.Register for Training
Prior to joining the Jeffco DeAngelis Center Foundation as Business Manager, Shawna has volunteered for the organization since our formation. Shawna’s professional background includes consulting on nonprofit management, grant management, communications, IT administration, human resources, commercial real estate development, and construction management.
Shawna joined in supporting the Jeffco DeAngelis Foundation due to her advocacy for school safety and the incredible work of the Jeffco Schools safety and security team. She believes that if our organization can share our expertise with others, school and community safety will be improved for everyone. “As school safety is the number one concern of families, the work of the Jeffco DeAngelis Foundation is crucial and the best work I can spend my time supporting!” Additionally, Shawna is a certified suicide prevention trainer and has trained over 3000 people.
