Regina Benson Artist Talk: Challenging Gravity
May 22 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Regina Benson Artist Talk:
Wednesday, May 22 at 4pm
Regina Benson will illustrate her spatial aesthetic and how she designs textile art that hangs invisibly in convex and concave shapes. She will have a “touch table” with samples of her rusted, dyed, burned and stitched cloth. She will lay out sections of metal, wood, and plastic materials used within the internal supports of her work. Regina will further address the planning, surface design, fabrication, and materials’ considerations that are involved in floating works off the wall and ceiling; and how to make gravity your friend.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Wine and cheese will be served.
