Supply List
Sketch pad and pencil. A 6B pencil would do or one with a soft graphite.
Easel
Kneaded eraser
Soft Pastels: Dark, mid tone, light values. It is important to get a good quality soft pastel from your local art store. You do not need a large quantity as long as you have the values. The store can make recommendations for you.
Sources for Pastels and paper:
Terry Ludwig Studios (local) has a basic value assortment of pastels or you may pick from open stock. A small selection of paper is also available, 303 795 1232. His pastels are my favorite. Meininger’s and Guiry’s also carry pastels and paper. I like Canson paper, smaller sizes around 8 X 10 in neutral colors and black if you want to give it a try. Bring a few sheets of Canson and any other pastel paper you might want to try. Some papers will also be available at the workshop.
