Chief Curator of Arts and Education
Sharifa Moore comes to CAE from the Emmanuel Gallery in Denver. She holds a BA in Art History and a BFA with an emphasis in Photography from the University of Colorado Denver. Both degrees were completed Summa Cum Laude and Sharifa was the Outstanding Graduate for the Department of Visual Arts in the College of Arts and Media. In the last year, Sharifa has enjoyed the honor of being a EUReCA research fellow for which she received the 1st place award for Visual Arts at the Research and Creative Activities Symposium, the curation of a successful photography show at the Next Stage Gallery in the Denver Center for Performing Arts, a tally count of gender representation for Month of Photography Colorado, and was the Associate Curator and Artist Assistant for the internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Oliver Herring. Most recently, she was selected as one of the 100 Colorado Creatives for Denver’s Westword. Sharifa has lived in Evergreen for 16 years with her husband and 3 children. She is excited for the opportunity to work in Evergreen and is focused on expanding the educational programming at CAE to include youth in Evergreen.
