The reduction kiln is firing up TOMORROW! ✨🏺 Redu The reduction kiln is firing up TOMORROW! ✨🏺 Reduction firing is ceramic magic where heat, atmosphere, and glaze come together to create colors and finishes you just can’t get in a traditional firing. Shinos, temmokus, and plenty of beautiful surprises. Our next reduction firing starts tomorrow, Saturday 8/22 at 9:30 AM and will run throughout the day. Have a pot ready to go? Get it onto our reduction firing shelf today and come back next week to see how the kiln transformed it! And good news, ceramic artists: we’ll be firing up the reduction kiln more often this fall. Calling all mountain area writers! ✍️📚 This is you Calling all mountain area writers! ✍️📚 This is your chance to share your words at Mountain Stories. As part of the inaugural Mountain Stories Literary Festival on September 26, we’re inviting local writers to submit their work for our lunchtime Open Mic. Ten writers will be selected to read a piece of their work in front of a welcoming community of readers, writers, and fellow storytellers. Poetry, fiction, memoir, and nonfiction are all welcome, including published pieces and works in progress. ✨ Readings must be 3 minutes or less ✨ Selected writers receive a ticket to the festival ✨ Submissions are due by September 11 ✨ Selected writers will be notified by September 18 To submit, DM a short introduction, your work as a Word document, and your estimated read time to @melissapayne_writes Prefer mail?
