Take a creative break and connect with other paren

Take a creative break and connect with other parents and neighbors in this relaxed, supportive 6-week art circle designed just for you. Whether you’re hoping to spark your creativity, explore new art mediums, or simply enjoy a few hours of peaceful “me time,” this class offers a warm and welcoming space to unwind and make art without pressure.

Each week features a new hands-on art experience—playful paper mâché, expressive printmaking, colorful oil and chalk pastels, mesmerizing acrylic pours, and more.

Tea and coffee will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring light snacks to share.💚

Letting go can be the hardest part of creating.

In Gail Wager’s abstract class, students started the session holding tight to structure… and slowly began to loosen their grip.

What followed?
More color. More movement. More them.

By the end of class, the room was filled with pieces that felt honest, expressive, and completely unique. 🎨 That’s the beauty of abstract art, it’s not about getting it right, it’s about discovering what happens when you let yourself play.

If you’re at the Rec Center for a class or a workout, take a moment to stop by and experience the art up on the walls.

Through gestural abstraction, Jessica Wright invites us into a world of enchantment with forested landscapes that are sometimes burning and bright, and other times shrouded in mist. Self-taught, she eventually moved away from the brush, embracing a “throwing” technique using acrylics, chopsticks, and, more recently, her own hands.

✨ All works are available for purchase, so if you fall in love with a piece, reach out to Chris for more information.

This series has been such a success, we’re already adding more adventure films to the schedule.

Join us for the next film of this season, Jeff Lowe’s Metanoia, the powerful story of legendary climber Jeff Lowe and the spiritual transformation he experienced on the north face of the Eiger.

We’re excited to welcome director Jim Aikman for a post-screening Q&A, where he’ll share stories from behind the film and Jeff Lowe’s remarkable legacy.
