COME JOIN THE WOMEN'S ART CIRCLE!

Our vision is to gather like-minded women to explore the world of art. Whether you are an artist, art enthusiast, writer, musician, business leader, or CEO of your household, we want you to be a part of something interesting, meaningful, and, of course, fun! Proceeds from the Women’s Art Circle go to support youth education and outreach programs at CAE.

  • Bi-monthly happy hour events, including gallery tours, guest speakers, fine and performing arts experiences, and the opportunity to meet, inspire or be inspired by other women
  • Volunteer opportunities (CAE is always in need of volunteers for events!)
  • Planning and oversight of CAE’s annual gala
  • Leadership opportunities through signature events and committees
  • Encourage and create opportunities for youth involvement in the arts
  • Advocate for CAE and the arts in our mountain community

JANUARY 26

ART BAR WITH BRENDA WYMAN

Join us at CAE for our Women’s Art Circle 2023 paint-and-sip kick-off party! Participants will be led by acclaimed artist, Brenda Wyman, in painting their own masterpieces to take home at the end of the night. Enjoy complimentary food, snacks, drinks, and more while we paint, learn, and sip some wine!

PRIVATE STUDIO VISIT & PROJECT WITH SUSAN WECHSLER

We are thrilled to offer this private tour and experience of Susan Wechsler’s studio. Susan is a master mosaic creator with an artistic style like no other. Susan will also conduct a demonstration, as well as lead the group in a special mosaic project of their own. Snacks and drinks will be provided. APRIL 13

PAPER FASHION SHOW

The Paper Fashion Show, produced by The One Club For Creativity Denver, is a runway show of haute couture meets paper art.  Designers create fashions from paper donated by high-end paper mills and coordinated by Spicers Paper. These fashions are showcased on a grand runway and voted on by a panel of judges. CAE has reserved a block of seats on the ground floor with a spectacular view of the show. For this event, we ask that members purchase their special discounted tickets through Center for the Arts.

JUNE 21

PRIVATE STUDIO VISIT & HIKE WITH TRUDY CHIDDIX

Trudy Chiddix has been honing her ceramics abilities for over four decades. She often incorporates other mediums such as glass and textiles to create pieces that are truly unique and evocative. Trudy will be hosting us for a private tour and will also lead the group on a light hike to show us some of the beautiful sights around her studio that inspire her. Lunch and drinks will be provided. PRIVATE TOUR OF 76TH ANNUAL GILPIN COUNTY ARTS EXHIBITION WITH JUROR CAROL NEWSOM

The Gilpin County Arts Association, located at Washington Hall in Historic Central City, is having their 76th annual juried show.  This is the longest running juried exhibit in Colorado and this year it was juried by our own, Carol Newsom.  Carol has offered to give us a private tour with an insider’s look into a juror’s mind. Carol is an award-winning artist, children’s book illustrator, and instructor.   And just in case you are wondering, we will have plenty of wine and appetizers!

 

OCTOBER 14

PRIVATE VIEWING OF WONDERBOUND BALLET'S FALL PRODUCTION WITH DIRECTOR Q&A

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity for our group to take in a complimentary private showing of Denver’s acclaimed contemporary ballet company, Wonderbound’s first production of the 2023-24 season in their newly renovated home. Women’s Art Circle members and their guests will enjoy a hosted happy hour, a Q&A with husband and wife duo Artistic Director Garret Ammon and President Dawn Fay, and a preview performance of “Wicked Bayou” featuring live music from The Widow’s Bane.
