This class is designed for beginners and for those who want to learn basic ceramics techniques and throwing skills.  The focus of this course will be placed on centering, opening, pulling and shaping pieces thrown on the potter’s wheel.  Students will strengthen their wheel skills with guidance from the instructor on how to throw, trim, and glaze pieces.  Students should wear clothes to get messy (and potentially stain!), bring an apron, towel, and a sketchbook for ideas.

    Hannah Lim

    Hannah Lim is a Korean-American ceramic artist and dedicated studio manager with a passion for making the arts accessible, inclusive, and ever-evolving. With a B.A. in Ceramic Design and Art History from the University of Northern Colorado, Hannah has worked in the art world for studio potters like Liz Cohen Ceramics and institutions like the Clyfford Still Museum. In 2021, she set up her own studio, and now is expanding her skills at the CAE! Hannah is always exploring new mediums and approaches to learning and teaching, believing in the power of art to connect and inspire.
