Ceramic Lusters Workshop
Ceramics Lusters Workshop with Hannah Lim
Wednesday, August 12
5 – 7 pm
Minimum Students: 3 | Maximum Students: 10
$85 CAE Member / $95 Non-Member
In this workshop, you’ll explore the luminous world of ceramic lusters and learn how to add metallic shine and iridescent effects to your fired work. We’ll cover application techniques, firing considerations, and ways to use lusters for subtle accents or bold, reflective surfaces. We will provide students with test tiles and small pieces to experiment on while gaining confidence with this exciting finishing process. Students are also welcome to bring in any ceramic piece that has already been glazed and fired to cone 6 (2230 degrees).
Students will be provided with a gas mask. Due to the toxic nature of luster fumes, the mask MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
The finished items will be fired in our kiln and will be ready for pick up within 2 weeks.
