Join CU-Denver sculpture professor Rian Kerrane for a unique hands-on exploration of iron casting—where creativity meets molten metal.
In this three-part workshop, participants will begin by creating a positive or negative relief design using soft foam collage or sand tile carving. Your design will be transported to the CU Denver campus, where Rian will perform an iron pour on March 17, transforming your creation into solid iron. Please join us to watch this iron metal pour!
When you return on April 1, you’ll view a video of your piece being poured, learn about patina and finishing techniques, and apply the final touches to your cast artwork.
This rare opportunity offers a window into the dramatic world of foundry art and the chance to take home your own cast iron sculpture.
All materials and supplies are provided—no prior experience necessary.
