Clay: Sold separately — $20 per 25 lb bag (available at the front desk)
Ages/Level: Adults 16+ | Intermediate to Advanced
Prerequisite: Ability to center at least 3 lbs of clay
Ready to grow beyond beginning wheel-throwing? This six-week course is designed for students who are comfortable with foundational skills and want to refine their technique, expand their forms, and deepen their overall ceramics knowledge. With personalized guidance from Tanya Keith of Luna Pottery, students will work on individual project ideas while learning more advanced methods for throwing, trimming, and finishing.
Whether you’re interested in bowls, mugs, pitchers, chip-and-dip sets, or planters, this class offers the structure and support to take your work to the next level. All studio tools are available, though students are welcome to bring their own.
Please bring a sketchbook or project journal, apron, and hand towels.
Weekly Breakdown
Week 1: Studio tour, demo, project planning, begin throwing
Week 2: Making, trimming, preparing pieces to dry
Week 3: Continued making, trimming, refining forms
Week 4: Final construction and bisque firing
Week 5: Glazing all completed work and glaze firing
Week 6: Kiln opening, group critique, and studio cleanup
