A Message from Our Executive Director:
***ATTENTION**** The Art Center will be closed today, Saturday, April 18th, due to the weather. All classes will be cancelled and we will post the rescheduled dates shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. - CAE Staff
Since 2003, the Center for the Arts Evergreen has welcomed visitors from the mountain community and from around the world. Our location in the wooded park next to Buchanan Recreation Center makes us a convenient stop in the middle of a busy day. Visitors come to view our ever-changing exhibitions or to take in a concert or special noon "Brown Bag" lecture program. We are a pleasant refuge, a good place to read your favorite poetry, visit with friends, or just sit in an atmosphere filled with thought-provoking art and ideas. Our classrooms are always a beehive of activities, whether filled with adults or children, novice or expert, all seeking to learn new techniques or to hone existing skills under the guidance of our expert teaching core. Our class offerings offer a wide selection to choose from: fine art, writing, crafts, and more. We are here to serve our community and we thank all of them for the support they give us.
There is no need to wait for an invitation to a special event (of which there are many at the Art Center). Just come by and visit. We would love to welcome you.
Breaking Boundaries: The Business of Art
The Center for the Arts Evergreen introduces a new "multi-lecture/hands-on" workshop series that will introduce artists at any level of their careers to the considerations and responsibilities of being a professional artist. This series, geared specifically toward the visual artist, meets once a month. The six sessions in this series will allow you the opportunity to meet with and hear from noted key resource professionals in the art world. A wide variety of topics will be discussed such as marketing, web design, bookkeeping etc., in order to provide you with a well-rounded wealth of information so that you can better navigate the business world of art. Please refer to the Center for the Arts Evergreen's website for this full listing.
All sessions will be held on Saturday mornings, one each in April, May and June, and September, October and November. Sessions will be from 10am until 2:00pm and will include a light lunch and ample networking time. Study guides and support materials will be provided. The cost of the individual session is $30 CAE members ($35 non-members), or enroll in the entire series of six lecture sessions for $150 ($160). Center for the Arts Evergreen is located in Buchanan Park, directly off of state Hwy 74, just 6 minutes from Hwy I-70 exit 252 (and less than 30 minutes from downtown Denver).
The programs have been designed and will be facilitated by Kathy Beekman, noted professional pastel painter, author, arts career coach and career workshop leader and Steve Sumner MFA, Executive Director of the Center for the Arts Evergreen, printmaker, arts administrator and former college President of Rocky Mountain College of Art+Design .
