Step into the soft mystery of fog-shrouded forests and the quiet glow of misty mornings in this immersive intermediate-to-advanced watercolor class with award-winning artist Carol Newsom. Whether you’re an experienced painter or looking to deepen your watercolor practice, this class will help you master the art of atmosphere—capturing light, mood, and depth with graceful transparency.

Each session includes a live demonstration followed by guided work time as you complete a full painting in class. Carol offers personalized, expert instruction tailored to your goals, with a focus on building technique, confidence, and creative expression. You’ll work from source photos that help bring ethereal forest landscapes and moody skies to life.

Carol Newsom is an internationally published illustrator and signature member of CWS, NWS, and WFWS. Her watercolor work has earned multiple Best in Show honors across Colorado and beyond. Her teaching style is both supportive and technique-rich, and she’s passionate about helping students create the effects they envision.
