Discover the sculptural art of ring making through wax carving. Each workshop explores a different classic silhouette—Bombe, Signet, and Band—offering a new design challenge and a chance to build your technical skills. Dante provides demonstrations and individualized support as students carve, shape, and refine wax models using both hand and heated tools. After class, each ring is cast and professionally finished in her studio.
Workshop Descriptions
1. The Band Ring (1/16)
A strong foundational class focusing on simplicity and technique. Carve a traditional or textured band while practicing ring sizing, shaping, and the subtle hand skills essential to wax work.
2. The Bombe Ring (2/20)
Explore this bold, domed form known for its smooth, sculptural curves. Learn how to create balanced proportions, shape the contour, and refine the surface for a comfortable and expressive statement piece.
3. The Signet Ring (3/14)
Design a classic signet with a flat or gently curved face ready for engraving, texture, or a clean contemporary finish. This workshop emphasizes blocking out shapes, achieving symmetry, and refining crisp edges.
