Join instructor Meagan and learn the incredible artform of relief (also known as Block) printmaking. Linoleum carving can be incredibly relaxing and produce even more incredible art pieces! This four-week class will introduce basic skills and techniques in the first class. No need for any previous experience with this medium! Those of you who are intermediate carvers can come in to expand your skills. The rest of the classes will focus on creating your own relief carvings to print your own custom designs. Linoleum slabs and carving tools are provided. While quality printmaking paper will be provided for a final piece, as well as quality cardmaking paper and envelopes, we highly encourage artists to bring items of their own that they would like to commemorate their print on as well. Good items for this include canvas tote bags, t-shirts, hoodies, aprons, tea towels and other fabric items. We will also be using a genuine 1968 printing press, something that most modern printmakers do not have access to!
