A FREE celebration of the heART of the community!

The time is fast approaching, and we have been waiting long enough. It’s the event that you definitely don’t want to miss! It’s going to be big. We mean REALLY big. Grand Opening Celebration big! Saturday, June 22 will be a day of celebration, creativity, and community. Get ready to immerse yourself in the abundance of new artistic opportunities available thanks to our doubling in space. Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply eager to explore your creative side, we’ll have something for everyone to enjoy – from painting and sculpting to glasswork and printmaking – and plenty of kid-friendly crafts and face painting to boot. We’ll host live demonstrations and hands-on activities, all conducted by our incredible staff of teaching artists. There will also be a full lineup of musical and theatrical presentations for your entertainment, including excerpts from the Venue Theatre’s Willy Wonka and Stage Door Theater’s current production, and performances by Ovation West’s chamber choir and Evergreen favorites John Erlandson and Gene Morris.

And if we must remind you, we have gotten pretty good at throwing parties! That means we will have a delicious food truck on site, plus wine and beer available for a donation. And, if you time it right, we are giving away free cupcakes to the first 200 people starting at 12:15 pm! It’s all part of how we’re honoring our Arts Person of the Year for 2024, Alexa Cowley, along with a very special toast beginning at noon.

So, mark your calendars for June 22 from 10 am – 3 pm for our long-awaited Grand Opening of CAE’s Phase II. We couldn’t have done this without our beloved community. This was built by you and for you, so let’s CELEBRATE together!
