Capital Campaign Phase I: COMPLETE!
After years of studies, plans and efforts, and thanks to the generous support from our community in our first Capital Campaign, we were pleased to announce the opening of the new Center for the Arts Evergreen at 31880 Rocky Village Rd. in 2017. The site has received a Historical Designation from Jefferson County. Part of the building was the original Soda Creek school house which dates back to the late 1880s. The former Bergen Park Church (currently located on Hwy. 65 in Bergen Park, Evergreen) is a historic structure in Evergreen that was in danger of demolition. The preservation of this building was a compelling reason to choose this the site for the new Center. The historic integrity of the building remains, but cutting-edge design, technology and function was the focus of its transformation.
Capital Campaign Phase II: In Process
Since the opening of the main facility in October of 2017, CAE has experienced an increased interest from the community for expanded educational opportunities in the arts. To serve those needs, CAE is embarking on an expansion of our facilities called “The Creative Arts Addition.” Expanding the CAE campus is now in the planning stages with an estimated project cost of $1 million. The concept is for a 3,500-square-foot structure providing a lower level that opens out to a courtyard for clay, glass and other ‘hot’ arts to be created. The upper level will provide additional ‘clean’ multi-use classrooms.
