Join us for an exciting and eerie advanced skills art adventure where kids aged 6-14 will dive into the spooky styles of renowned artists and create their own haunting masterpieces! This hands-on workshop will introduce young artists to Tim Burton’s whimsical yet spooky style, Edvard Munch’s dramatic expressionism, and Salvador Dalí’s surrealist visions. With engaging activities focused on character development, shading, and creative expression, this workshop is perfect for budding artists eager to explore the spooky side of art.

Workshop Highlights:

• Tim Burton Style Self-Portraits:
  • Character Development: Learn about Tim Burton’s unique, spooky characters and how they come to life. Kids will explore the creative process behind developing quirky, exaggerated characters.
  • Value and Shading: Using charcoal, students will practice shading techniques to add depth and dimension to their portraits, capturing the essence of Burton’s distinctive style.
  • Exaggerated Features: Discover how to exaggerate facial features to create a dramatic, spooky effect, just like Burton’s iconic characters.
• Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”:
  • Recreate “The Scream”: Dive into the world of Edvard Munch and learn about his emotional and dramatic artwork. Kids will recreate “The Scream” as a self-portrait, exploring expressionism and the use of color and line.
  • Interactive Mural: Contribute to a large interactive mural inspired by “The Scream,” where each child will add their own spooky touches, creating a collaborative and dynamic piece of art.
• Salvador Dalí and Surrealism:
  • Study Surrealism: Explore the fantastical world of Salvador Dalí and his surrealistic approach to art. Learn about the elements of surrealism and how Dalí used imagination and dreamlike imagery in his work.
  • Create Surrealistic Art: Kids will create their own surrealistic interpretations, combining imaginative elements and unusual juxtapositions to produce unique and dreamlike artworks.
