ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Visit the Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) between January 11 and February 10 to see the new exhibition, We 3We 3 is a retrospective exhibition featuring the work of three artists who met more than forty years ago as art students at Arvada West High School. In early 1970s, Grace Eberl, Kate Kennedy and Amy Thornton began their art studies at Arvada West High School under the tutelage of Mr. David Passarelli. High school art class proved a fertile opportunity to launch decades of friendship and artistry for these three women. Their lives have taken them from New York City to Hawaii, yet their artistic connection and friendship have lasted. Each artist’s focus is different: figures, florals, abstracts. What joins these three together is their masterful use of color and their meaningful personal connection that has transcended the years. From selling their artwork at Arvada West HS art fairs, to thriving as professional artists, these artists have remained true to their roots: dynamic artistic vision and the importance of connection. Generous support for We 3 is provided by Mountain Home, Alexa Interiors, SCFD, and Colorado Gives Foundation.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Grace Eberl is a lifetime student, artist and patron of the Arts. Her dynamic artistry celebrates figurative and landscape subjects. She’s been an active member of the Art Students League of Denver for over thirty years. Kate Kennedy worked for almost three decades in Promotional Advertising and Graphic Design as a Creative Director. She left the corporate world to pursue her artwork full time, and Kate passionately shares her love of florals with both students as an instructor at the Arts Students League of Denver and with her collectors. Amy Thornton was an Art Director at the Colorado History Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Creative Director for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, before leaving to fulfill a lifelong dream as a full-time visual artist. Amy’s abstract works surge with color and life.
