Open Studio at CAE • Center for the Arts Evergreen

Center for the Arts Evergreen offers Open Studio time as a perk for CAE Members every Monday. CAE is your place to meet with fellow artists and work on your personal projects in our classroom. We have stand-up easels, table-top easels, tables, a sink, and natural and artificial light in our classroom. We offer two types of Open Studio. Every other Monday from 9 am-12 pm AND 1-4 pm we will have true Open Studio. A still-life will be set up in the classroom, but you may work on anything you desire. On the other Mondays, we will host our Live Model Drawing/Painting Open Studio from 9:30 am-12:30 pm. Registration for this open studio works differently. Please see below for dates and instructions on registration for either type of Open Studio. Come enjoy time with your peers and create art! Open studio is included as a member benefit free of charge.

Masks covering your nose and mouth will be required at all times inside CAE
Per social distancing regulations, we can only allow 10 people inside the classroom. For this reason, please register ahead of time to let us know you’re coming.
If the weather is nice, easels and/or tables may be set up outside under our heated tent to allow for greater social distancing.
All food should be consumed outside.
CAE is closed on days when Jeffco schools close due to inclement weather.

We are happy to announce we will be starting “Open Studio Live Figure Painting/Drawing” on October 5^th. This is an opportunity to paint/draw from a live model with a friendly group of artists. There is no instructor/teacher present for these sessions.

There are a few changes from last year that you will need to know:

The Center requires the participating artist to be a current member.
We must wear masks while in the building.
We will meet every other Monday starting on October 5^th.
We are limited to 10 people in the studio, 9 artists, 1 model
Because of the limitation in the studio, if you plan to attend you will need to contact Allana Ruby before each Monday via text or phone call. Her cell number is 303-818-0386.

Everything else remains the same:

Purchase a punch card at the session for $40/4 sessions to help cover our model expense.
Tipping the model is optional
Paint from 9:30-12:30
The Center is closed for bad weather if Jefferson County schools are closed

Open Studio will take place every other Monday Morning from 9am-12pm and every other Monday afternoon from 1-4 pm. How to register for Open Studio for All Artists:

Open Studio is free to all CAE Members, but in order to comply with health restrictions, you must RSVP. If you are not a CAE Member, you may become a member here, or pay per month ($10/session) for mornings, afternoons, or both. Click the links below to register.
