By combining the fundamental drawing techniques, students will learn the components that make up a finished work of art. Drawing techniques discussed are, but are not limited to, hatching, cross-hatching, contour lines, weaving, stippling, scribbling, and blending. Students will also learn about additive and reductive strategies in drawing. They will complete several artworks, including still life, figure drawing, portraiture and more. Graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, blending stumps, and various erasing techniques will be introduced.
