Bringing the Community Together Through Art Since 1975

Founded in 1975, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) has spent 50 years fostering and promoting the arts in the foothills west of Denver. What began as a grassroots effort by local artists and art enthusiasts has grown into a dynamic nonprofit arts center dedicated to engaging the community through diverse exhibitions, high-quality arts education, and extensive outreach programs. In June 2024, CAE completed a transformative $2.8M expansion, doubling its space and adding a state-of-the-art ceramics studio, private artist studios, and an Artist-in-Residence program. This expansion reinforces CAE’s role as a true community hub, providing a welcoming space for artistic exploration, education, and connection. CAE’s commitment to artistic excellence includes hosting at least 10 exhibitions annually, offering beginning-to-advanced-level visual arts and crafts classes for all ages, creative writing courses, master workshops, children’s summer camps, and teen mural and mentorship programs. Additionally, CAE presents both a gallery and an outdoor concert series, provides rental space for community businesses and nonprofits, and produces three free or low-cost arts festivals each year. A curated artisanal gift shop at the Center showcases and supports local artists. Beyond the walls of the Center, CAE’s robust outreach initiatives use the power of art to engage underserved and socially isolated populations, ensuring that creativity is accessible to all.

Our Mission

To enrich and serve our mountain community by promoting and cultivating the arts through quality educational programming, exhibitions, and events.

Statement of Ethics & Inclusion

Center for the Arts Evergreen is committed to treating all people with kindness, encouragement, and respect, believing that each one of us contributes to the health and well-being of the whole by combining our diverse views, personalities, and backgrounds as well as our myriad ethnicities, genders, and proclivities.

It is not our intent to single out certain people for special treatment but to consider all people, not despite but because of our differences, worthy of our attention and intentional inclusion, believing that the arts are a vehicle for specifically bringing people together in the appreciation of creativity, talent, diverse perspective, and honest expression.
